Small town leadership

It’s hard to talk about “giving back,” because when you’re a part of a small-town community like ours, it doesn’t feel like something noteworthy. Everyone supports our friends and neighbors, because we’re grateful to call this place our home. 

At The Trail House®, we assist with trail maintenance in Gambril State Park and the Frederick City Watershed. We support Friends of Cunningham Falls State Park and serve on many civic and outdoor-specific organizations and committees. We are also strong supporters of the Downtown Frederick Partnership to help care for businesses and organizations of our local downtown district. 

Beyond these organizations, we are frequent sponsors of our local school activities and nonprofit events, and our staff is personally involved with many organizations of their own.

Many organizations would be grateful to have you. Drop by the store and we will gladly connect you to local organizations or events. Follow us on Facebook or check out our events for the next time we look for volunteers as well, such as for trail clean-ups.

What about donating gear?

There many people and organizations that will appreciate pre-loved gear. At The Trail House, we do not have the capacity to accept donated gear, though we will connect you to organizations that do. Thank you!
